Spring, TX
The community of Spring, TX, is located in Harris County, north of downtown Houston along I-45 at State Highway 99, just before The Woodlands. Spring covers more than 23 square miles of land, home to a population of about 55,000 people.
Spring had fewer than 1000 residents in the mid-20th century. Then, as Houston’s suburbs began to expand north in the 1970s, the Spring area welcomed the development of new residential subdivisions. At the same time, older houses in the town were renovated and turned into shops. The Old Town Spring shopping area has since become a popular tourist area, consisting of these restored homes. Another attraction in Spring is the water park known as SplashTown Houston.
